The position requires the accurate selection, packing, and organization of warehouse merchandise for shipment to retail stores. It is essential for maintaining order accuracy, safety measures, and supporting the efficient running of warehouse operations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Warehouse Picker:
Match order specifications with items from the warehouse inventory for selection.
Locate items based on the aisle they belong to, the slot they are placed in, and the quantity available.
Organize, stack, and pack items to shield against damage and ensure safe transfer.
Ensure a clean and organized work area to meet safety protocol requirements.
Assist in conducting cycle counts and ensuring the accuracy of inventory checks as requested.
Ensure safe operation of forklifts and pallet jacks in the warehouse upon certification.
Qualifications and Experience of Warehouse Picker:
Having a high school diploma or an equivalent credential is advantageous.
While it would be advantageous to have previous warehouse or inventory experience, it is not a strict requirement.
Primary math and reading aptitudes crucial for deciphering order forms and labels.
Possess the capacity to lift weights up to 50 pounds and stand for long stretches with ease.
Demonstrating a sharp eye for detail and competent organizational prowess.
Although beneficial, a forklift certification is not mandatory.
