Role and Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities as a Bakery Attendant include overseeing the daily bread and bakery production processes to guarantee consistency, quality, and efficiency. Collaboration with colleagues is necessary to maintain smooth operations and uphold safety and sanitation standards.
- Employ weighing scales to accurately portion ingredients and follow the correct blending sequence.
- Execute the procedures involved in separating, molding, allowing for fermentation, and ultimately baking bread and pastry items according to given schedules.
- Interpret and conform to all culinary recipes, guidelines, and timetable arrangements.
- Maintain the sanitation of work areas, mixers, utensils, and devices.
- Apply PLUs, UPC codes, and Globalbake software for the purpose of printing recipes efficiently.
- Maintain the safety and cleanliness of bakery machinery like mixers, chillers, and dispensers during operation.
- Make it a priority to meet the standards set by FSMA, HACCP, health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and organic certifications.
- Complete essential trainings, attend meetings, and follow PPE and scheduling directives.
Key Competencies and Prerequisites:
- Persons must be over 18 years old and capable of understanding and speaking basic English.
- Knowledge in handcrafted production and the baking industry.
- In-depth knowledge of baking materials, machinery, and metrics.
- Excellent math proficiency and adeptness in making quick on-the-spot calculations.
- Entry-level knowledge of computers and software, including understanding Globalbake.
- Skilled in clear communication and structured organization.
- Proficiency in differentiating and evaluating the excellence of products by tasting them.
- Competent in performing duties independently or cooperatively with others under minimal guidance.
- Physically fit to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, remain upright or mobile for 8-hour shifts, and perform activities like bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Adept at performing tasks in environments with temperatures ranging between -10°F and 100°F.
- Acceptance of the need to work variable schedules, such as nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Firsthand experience with Hobart mixers, compactors, sharp tools, and bakery machinery.
- Motivated from within, showcasing effective troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach towards tasks.
Compensation and Benefits:
