Role and Responsibilities:

The Produce Stock Clerk is responsible for keeping the produce department fresh, organized, and welcoming for customers while maintaining high-quality standards. You will ensure smooth daily operations and deliver exceptional service throughout the department.

• Greet customers and assist with selecting produce while providing helpful product information.
• Set up and maintain visually appealing displays of fruits and vegetables.
• Stock, rotate, and remove damaged or expired items to ensure product freshness.
• Verify accurate pricing and labeling for all produce items.
• Receive deliveries and inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Monitor inventory and communicate restocking needs promptly.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department and storage areas.
• Collaborate with team members, store management, and other departments.
• Assist in training new produce clerks or team members as needed.
• Support other departments during peak periods or as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong customer service orientation with dedication to providing excellent experiences.
• Basic knowledge of fruits and vegetables and willingness to expand product expertise.
• Physical capability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Attention to detail to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
• Team player with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, proactive, and committed work ethic.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Minimum age: 18 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

• No prior produce experience required; previous grocery or retail experience is advantageous.
• Basic math skills for handling pricing and cash transactions.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly wage: $15.00 - $17.00, based on experience and location.
