Grocery Associate

Job Summary:

As a Grocery Associate at Winn-Dixie, you will play a key role in providing an excellent shopping experience for customers. You’ll greet, assist, and thank customers in a prompt, courteous, and friendly manner, properly record sales, and operate cashiering equipment accurately while recognizing all forms of tender. You will help maintain well-stocked and organized grocery, general merchandise, dairy, and frozen food areas, ensure product freshness, and assist with receiving and unloading vendor deliveries. Hiring Immediately.

Responsibilities:

• Provide continuous attention to customer needs and deliver exceptional service.
• Greet, assist, and thank customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Offer product suggestions when appropriate.
• Stock and rotate department products to ensure freshness and proper date control, and use supply items efficiently to minimize waste.
• Operate department equipment and tools safely and according to guidelines.
• Assist with receiving vendor merchandise and promptly unload truck deliveries.
• Manage checkout lanes according to service standards and maintain accurate sales records.
• Return carts to the shopping cart corral.
• Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark-downs, property defacement, or any action that is illegal or against company policy.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Meet legal and company policy age requirements to perform job functions.
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
