Job Summary of Store Cashier:
The primary duty of a Store Cashier is to offer customers a pleasant and timely checkout encounter by providing swift and precise transaction services. Upholding proper transaction procedures and upholding a clean and structured front-end space are essential aspects of the position. Furthermore, you will be required to address customer inquiries, advocate for charitable endeavors, and comply with all operational rules and regulations to ensure a secure, effective, and enjoyable shopping atmosphere.
Responsibilities of Store Cashier:
- Accurately and efficiently process all customer transactions
- Provide proper change and receipts for all purchases.
- Check prices and be knowledgeable about the location of items in the store.
- Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
- Promote current charitable campaigns and promotional offers to customers.
- Properly bag customers orders in a safe, organized, and efficient manner, using reusable or paper/plastic bags as requested.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front-end area, including registers, belts, and surrounding floor space.
- Follow all safety procedures when handling money and using register equipment.
- Observe all company policies related to register operations, returns, voids, and overrides.
- Notify management of any issues related to equipment, pricing, or customer concerns.
- Assist with restocking impulse items and maintaining front-end merchandising displays.
- Work cooperatively with front-end team and other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Stand at register for the duration of the scheduled shift, which may exceed 8 hours per day.
- Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
- Work overtime as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications of Store Cashier:
- Individuals must be 18 years or above to autonomously manage register equipment.
- Competence in English involves the capability to understand, interpret, and communicate through reading, writing, and speaking.
- Aptitude in carrying out primary mathematical computations, which involve addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to be upright and mobile for the duration of the scheduled work shift.
- Proficiency in bending, rotating, extending, and raising objects weighing up to 25 lbs. regularly, and at times managing items up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in interacting with clientele cordially and in a polished manner.
- Capability to adeptly handle a high volume of transactions with precision in a rapid environment.
- Skill in coordinating efforts with others and abiding by the company policies on punctuality and attendance.
