Job Summary of Self-Checkout Attendant:

As a Self-Checkout Attendant at Winn-Dixie, you will be instrumental in facilitating a seamless and efficient checkout procedure for clientele. Your responsibilities will include overseeing several self-checkout registers, providing aid to customers whenever necessary, and persuasively promoting the use of self-checkout lanes, while simultaneously upholding high levels of precision and customer service. The primary objectives will be to combat inventory losses, ensure the correct scanning and bagging of items, and upkeep a clean, well-organized, and safe self-checkout vicinity. Responsibilities of Self-Checkout Attendant:

• Protect against inventory losses or fraud at self-checkout lanes by continuously providing exceptional customer service and intervening appropriately when necessary.
• Observe self-checkout transactions diligently to identify any irregularities or suspicious activities.
• Ensure customers are scanning and bagging items correctly, intervening when needed to verify accuracy.
• Respond promptly to Point-of-Sale alerts and investigate any potential issues or discrepancies.
• Report any incidents of theft, suspicious behavior, or equipment malfunctions to store leadership.
• Provide outstanding service in the Self-Checkout lanes according to SEG service standards.
• Educate and assist customers on using the self-checkout process to minimize errors and promote a smooth experience.
• Engage customers in a friendly manner to create a positive shopping environment while subtly discouraging fraudulent activities.
• Continuously attend to customer needs, greeting, assisting, and thanking them promptly and courteously.
• Monitor regular lanes for excessive traffic and invite waiting customers to use self-checkout while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Assist customers with scanning products when needed. Keep the work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards.
• Stock front-end products and ensure the self-checkout area is fully supplied.
• Clean and sanitize equipment during downtime or immediately when spills occur.
• Return carts to the shopping cart corral. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements of Self-Checkout Attendant:

• Being at least 18 years old is a necessity.
• Proficient in English language literacy and communication skills.
• Skill in interpreting and complying with English commands.
• Consistent compliance with all corporate policies and protocols. Exceptional standard of honesty and dependability.
• Online training necessitates a basic proficiency in using a computer.
• Meeting the requirements of pre-employment drug testing and background investigations is a crucial step in the hiring process.
