Job Summary of Online Shopping Associate:

As an Online Shopping Associate at ShopRite, the core tasks involve facilitating a positive customer journey by handling orders received through the store's website, such as selecting items, addressing any customer issues, packaging orders into bags and totes, storing them suitably, invoicing customers, transporting purchases to their vehicles, and collecting payments. This role centers on precisely picking, packaging, and preparing customer online orders for pickup or delivery, guaranteeing timely order completion, adherence to quality criteria, and customer satisfaction

Qualifications of Online Shopping Associate:

• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift. Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences
• Ability to tolerate dust and chemical agents during routine housekeeping duties.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures. Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities of Online Shopping Associate:

• Expertly identify goods from different departments within the establishment. Possess a deep understanding of selecting superior perishable items
• Provide alternative recommendations when the product chosen by the consumer is out of stock.
• This requires excellent communication skills via phone & in person. Accurately select and organize Customer's items efficiently.
• Properly packaging and organizing customer orders for safe delivery.
• Set up the workspace for the selection process and consolidate the completed totes for customer pickup or delivery. Ensure that the temperature-controlled totes are placed in the appropriate location, such as the cooler, with priority.
• The exporting process deals with accepting all types of payments, such as cash, credit, checks, EBT, WIC, rain checks, vouchers, coupons, gift cards, and so forth.
• Skillfully process payments and offer precise change. Proficient in handling different denominations of U.S. currency.
• Learn how to operate the cash register effectively and follow all prescribed cash handling procedures, if relevant.
• Get paperwork ready to complete a customer's transaction and file accurately. Organize workspace for the selection process.
• Online Shopping Clerks are anticipated to be willing and capable of performing activities related to selecting, consolidating, and exporting, along with the general department duties specified.
• Offer a warm reception to all visitors and provide them with efficient and friendly service.
• Understand the variety of products available in the store. Have knowledge of the selection tools and software in use.
• Uphold quality standards by effectively handling each item in customer orders. Lift, pull, push, and rotate goods weighing 25 lbs, occasionally reaching up to 50 lbs.
• Double-check prices and be well-informed about the placement of items within the store. Encourage customers by promoting any current charitable promotions to drive sales.
• Stay standing at the work station for the entirety of the scheduled shift, which may go beyond 8 hours a day. Understand and conform to Company policies on reducing losses in the Online Shopping Department.
• Sustain a work environment that is tidy, arranged, and safe for everyone.
• Comply with Department of Sanitation and QA guidelines by sterilizing work surfaces, tools, and equipment. Moreover, make sure the floor is clean and free from any spills or debris.
• Comply with all the Federal, State, and Local statutes that are applicable to the Online Shopping operation.
• Abide by Company rules, policies, safety criteria, and security protocols, while also adhering to the health and civil code regulations mandated by Local, State, and Federal authorities.
• Observe the company's guidelines on dressing and grooming, which entail wearing the prescribed uniform, prominently showcasing the name badge, and securing hair with a hat or appropriate restraint.
• Maintain adherence to QA standards for hand washing practices and use disposable gloves while handling food items. Follow the Company's HAZCOM policies and adhere to the manufacturer's instructions on chemical labels for the appropriate and safe use of all products.
• Comply with guidelines for equipment utilization and maintenance within the department, highlighting any equipment concerns immediately. Achieve all mandatory departmental training. Carry out all responsibilities considering ShopRite's Service Priorities, covering Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, and Efficiency.
• Keep a punctual and reliable attendance record at work. Be ready to work extra hours as directed and engage in teamwork with your coworkers.
• To manage crushers, order pickers, electric platforms, and cutting tools, candidates must be 18 years or older. Undertake any other duties designated.
