Food Production Clerk

Job Summary of Food Production Clerk:

Determined to provide exceptional customer satisfaction through attentive, friendly, and well-informed service provision, responding to customer inquiries and suggesting products through upselling; assisting the Food Service Manager in the daily functioning of the Food Service department; ensuring a neat, hygienic, and aesthetically appealing department with a focus on product preparation and safe handling practices; carrying out any additional responsibilities efficiently and securely, in accordance with Company regulations.

Qualifications of Food Production Clerk:

• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures. Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences.
• Ability to tolerate dust and chemical agents during routine housekeeping duties.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way. Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to operate all equipment customarily used by the Food Service Department and other equipment as may be required. Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities of Food Production Clerk:

• Promote a clean, tidy, and secure work environment by following the established guidelines for sanitizing and organizing tools and surfaces as outlined by the Department of Sanitation and QA protocols.
• Clear the floor of any mess or spills to maintain cleanliness. Welcome customers with courtesy and efficiency in service. Introduce ongoing charitable promotions to customers to drive involvement and support.
• Sustain the acceptable condition of shelves, cases, and displays by continuously stocking, cleaning, straightening, and rotating merchandise.
• Complete the preparation of products such as salads, sandwiches, chicken dishes, pizza, and pasta, along with entrees and catering orders, based on the provided recipes and Company guidelines.
• Confirm that the suitable temperatures are being preserved in the display cases, steam tables, when products are being heated and cooled, and in all storage facilities.
• Observe sanctioned steps for receiving and storing products to safeguard quality assurance and promote stock rotation. Address impaired or unmarketable products as per Company guidelines.
• Inform customers about product options and ingredients through signage placed on all items. Ensure compliance with department policies by using and maintaining equipment accordingly, and report any equipment malfunctions without delay.
• Abide by the regulations of Local, State, and Federal authorities regarding the Food Service operation while performing assigned duties.
• Perform all obligations following Company regulations, policies, safety prerequisites, and security standards, and ensure compliance with health and civil code regulations at the Local, State, and Federal levels.
• Utilize various equipment as needed in the department, such as slicer, scale, can opener, wrapping machine, rotisserie, fryolator, cheese grater/cutter, case cutter, and stove/oven.
• Abide by established practices for accepting, date labeling, preparing, storing, and marking prices, arranging, and restocking products to ensure quality, accuracy, rotation, and protection.
• Abide by Company guidelines for dressing and grooming, including wearing the designated uniform, prominently displaying a name badge, and meeting expectations regarding head covering or hair maintenance.
• Perform duties in accordance with QA hand washing standards and use disposable gloves when handling food. Regularly lift, pull, push and rotate equipment and merchandise that weights 25 lbs. and occasionally weights up to 60 lbs.
• Handle unloading of trucks and transferring of 25-pound merchandise to the Food Service Department.
• Every now and then, it reaches a weight of 60 pounds.
• Stay in the Food Service Department for the entirety of the scheduled shift, which may surpass 8 hours per day. Understand and comply with the Company's shrinkage guidelines pertaining to Food Service operations.
• Carry out tasks as per the Company's HAZCOM guidelines and conform to the manufacturer's label instructions for the safe and proper usage of all chemical items.
• Be present for and accomplish all department-oriented training procedures. Carry out all functions adhering to the ShopRite Service Priorities (Safety, Friendliness, Appearance, and Optimization).
• Ensure punctuality and regular attendance. Be willing to work extra hours as requested. Work harmoniously with team members. Individuals must meet the age requirement to operate specific machinery. Carry out other assigned tasks as needed.
