Job Summary of Meat Market Team Member:

Serving as a Meat Market Team Member specializing in the Meat Market section, you are tasked with delivering friendly and efficient customer service, addressing customer concerns, preparing and managing meat inventory, and ensuring a positive shopping atmosphere. You play a role in maintaining a clean and well-organized work area and supporting your colleagues in their operational tasks.

Responsibilities of Meat Market Team Member:

• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and government regulations.
• Meet all applicable Management Planning guidelines.
• Treat all co-workers with fairness, dignity, and respect.
• Develop product knowledge in all areas of the meat department including cooking procedures.
• Assist in special projects and perform other functions as assigned by supervisor.
• Assist in training of other associates when assigned.
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times; comply with company personal appearance policy.
• Maintain solid communication in the department and throughout the organization.
• Support company safety standards. Communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance work needed. Keep work area free from debris and safety hazards.
• Observe and maintain company sanitation and food safety standards.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Provide outstanding customer service. Communicate with and assist customers in selection of product.
• Identify, wrap, price, and weigh all meat department items in accordance with specified procedures outlined by standard practice.
• Stock the fresh, frozen, and self-service cases using proper rotation procedures.
• Assist meat cutters by scraping and traying products, cubing steaks, and grinding ground meats.
• Receive any meat delivery, code, rotate, and put in appropriate storage area.
• Wash, rinse and sanitize all cases, wrap stations/area, scaling equipment, cooler, cutting room, including disassembling and re-assembling equipment therein.

Qualifications of Meat Market Team Member:

• Proficient in interpersonal interactions and a motivation to engage in team-based projects.
• Compliance with the age threshold is necessary.
• The art of effective customer service encompasses communication proficiency.
• Exhibited competence and enthusiasm in learning numerous tasks and technical prerequisites for the position.

Physical Requirements of Meat Market Team Member:

• Lift and transport meat products that vary in weight from 1 to 40 pounds frequently, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
• Meet the established criteria for the volume of tasks accomplished within a specific timeframe.
• Stand or walk persistently while being exposed to temperatures around 45 degrees Fahrenheit during most of the working hours.
• Conduct repetitive gripping, turning, reaching, and arm movements during the process of product identification, wrapping, pricing, and weighing.
• Competent in handling a diverse array of compounds related to cleaning materials, packaging products, and meat merchandise.
• Frequent bending.
