Service Specialist

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Service Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding customer service, operating cash registers, assisting with light stocking duties, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. You will play a vital role in supporting store operations and ensuring every customer leaves with a positive impression of Brookshire Grocery Company.

• Greet customers warmly as they enter and exit the store.
• Assist customers in locating products, answering questions, and providing store information.
• Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally, ensuring satisfactory resolution.
• Operate cash registers efficiently, accurately processing cash, credit, and debit transactions.
• Verify customer ID for age-restricted products and balance cash drawers at the end of shifts.
• Assist with light stocking duties, replenishing shelves and displays according to store standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of checkout lanes, shelves, displays, and aisles.
• Collaborate with team members to meet customer needs and support store operations.
• Assist customers with special requests, including product substitutions, returns, and exchanges.
• Promote store services, loyalty programs, and special promotions to customers.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality preferred but not required.
• Experience handling cash transactions and operating cash registers is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with clear and professional communication.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and calculating change.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Comfortable using POS systems and mobile applications.
