Job Summary of Evening Store Manager:
To competently manage and oversee all store activities in the store manager's absence.
Responsibilities of Evening Store Manager:
- Guaranteeing that all retail staff show respect to customers and that all customer comments or inquiries are managed in a professional and appropriate manner.
- Tasked with delegating responsibilities in a manner that drives efficiency and effectiveness, as well as implementing suitable follow-up procedures.
- To establish a cleanliness protocol that maintains an appealing and organized store layout for customers.
- Ensure the upkeep of the building and machinery to support safe operations.
- Tasked with upholding the freshness of products and utilizing merchandising methods to achieve peak sales and profitability.
- To implement and retain effective fire and safety strategies mandated by Risk Management.
- Implement and uphold the security guidelines inside the store and its vicinity as outlined by the Loss Prevention Department for enhanced security measures.
- Welcoming all patrons with gratitude for their ongoing business.
- Inspecting the store's cooling units after hours on a consistent basis.
- Managing all aspects of the store in the evening in the store manager's nonattendance.
- To uphold all company policies as stipulated in the Employee Handbook.
- Offer help in the cash office as required, including filling in during breaks and verifying the authenticity of bank deposits.
- To support various departments within the store on an as-needed basis.
- Ensure that any evening issues are brought to the attention of the store manager or the department managers.
- Provide help across the grocery department by assisting with tasks such as setting up displays, organizing products, placing signs, collecting carts, and replenishing stock.
Qualifications of Evening Store Manager:
- Minimum requirement of a high school education. A college education is helpful but not required.
- At least 1 year of management experience in a retail environment is required.
- Must possess the ability to make critical decisions and to provide effective leadership.
- Must possess excellent communication skills in order to deal with customers and other employees.
- Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lbs.) approximately thirty percent (30%) of the time.
- Must have the ability to retrieve and place merchandise on the top racks in the grocery aisles for proper storage. The top racking process may be 20% of the time working in the aisles during the shift.
- Must have the ability to operate a pallet jack, step carts, and the Big Joe.
