Pastry Chef

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Pastry Chef / Production Representative, you will handle the preparation, baking, and presentation of products while maintaining departmental organization, sanitation, and quality standards.

• Mix, shape, bake, wrap, and stock products according to daily production requirements
• Ensure quality control of all products before sending them to the sales floor
• Maintain sanitation standards in the department
• Organize back storage, freezer, walk-in, and production areas
• Read and execute daily production lists accurately
• Provide customer service, including answering questions and taking phone orders
• Monitor product quality and shrink
• Order and receive products and supplies
• Maintain transfer records for inventory tracking
• Prep, wrap, price, sell, and stock products continuously
• Demo or prepare customer samples for self-serve
• Provide excellent customer service consistently
• Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience with commercial production preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle stressful situations effectively
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads (minimum 50 lbs.), bend, reach, push, and pull
• Ability to work overnight and flexible schedules including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Knowledge and preparation of baking goods preferred
