Job Summary of Inventory Store Clerk:

The Inventory Store Clerk reports directly to the store manager and indirectly to both the assistant store managers and shift leaders.This position is responsible for duties such as cashiering, stocking, cleaning, and monitoring perishables.The Inventory Store Clerk provides excellent customer service and assists in maintaining excellent daily store conditions. This position accomplishes all job duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities of Inventory Store Clerk:

• Demonstrates proficiency in managing a cash register and executing checkout procedures at a level that meets or surpasses the expected performance standards. This includes achieving the minimum transaction time per item and accurately handling and counting various payment methods such as cash, EBT, debit cards, credit cards, WIC vouchers, gift cards, coupons, and checks.
• Follows all required steps and guidelines for check-out and the handling of cash.
• Maintains consistent performance in meeting or exceeding established requirements for the handling, stocking, and maintenance of grocery, frozen, dairy, smoked meat, and perishable items.
• Helps with offloading shipments from delivery trucks.
• Arranges merchandise on platforms, shelving units, peg hooks, or in baskets, and refrigerated showcases according to requirements.
• Positions stock as necessary and ensures the accuracy and quality of the items received, both physically and in the inventory system.
• Rounds up shopping carts from the parking lot.
• Sustains a high level of quality in the store environment.
• Maintains a secure and organized work environment.
• Completes cleaning responsibilities as directed, which involve ensuring the cleanliness of floors, windows, display cases, shelves, register area, backroom, restrooms, parking lot, and additional fixtures.
• Provides exemplary customer service that involves friendly and polite communication.
• Participates in educating and developing other members of the store team alongside management.
• Oversees the systematic rotation of dated and non-dated merchandise.
• Verifies the attachment of price tags/signs to products and their placement in accordance with company guidelines.
• Safeguards the company's possessions, capital, and inventory.
• Demonstrates, trims, assembles, and refills accepted ripe produce.
• Helps out new employees as necessary.
• Engages in diverse responsibilities, such as operating in various store regions, per assignment.

Qualification of Inventory Store Clerk:

• All participants must be 18 years of age or older.
• Candidates with a high school diploma or an equivalent credential are preferred.
• Established efficiency in retail sales with a focus on dry grocery, perishable items, meat, general grocery products, cash handling, and outstanding customer service preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in collaborative work and problem resolution.
• Capability in English comprehension, composition, and articulation is vital.
• Show proficiency in verbal and written exchanges, while also demonstrating strong interpersonal capabilities.
• Essential qualifications include adeptness in elementary math tasks like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as basic computer proficiency.
• Being dependable and adaptable is vital for working scheduled shifts and being open to assisting in other store areas with minimal or zero notice in advance.
• Strict adherence to safety standards is required.
• Following a set attire code is a necessary requirement.

Physical Requirements of Inventory Store Clerk:

• Requires the ability to reach, bend, balance, lift and transport various objects weighing 20-50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift; at times, product weight could be 50-80 pounds.
• Must have the ability to stand, walk and / or move about for extended periods of time.
• Requires the ability to push, pull, grasp, twist and use sawing motions for extended periods of time.
• Regularly works in freezers, coolers, refrigerators, inside and outside of the store in all weather conditions and inside delivery trucks.
