Job Summary of Grocery Shelf Stocker:

It is the responsibility of Grocery Shelf Stocker to keep the grocery department shelves and displays consistently well-stocked, tidy, and arranged to enhance the shopping experience for customers. Moreover, they are available to assist patrons with product inquiries and ensure excellent customer service.

Responsibilities of Grocery Shelf Stocker:

• Assist in the unloading, stocking, and arranging of grocery merchandise on shelves and displays in an organized manner.
• Transfer merchandise from the backroom to the sales area.
• Unbox packages and label products with correct prices following company regulations.
• Maintain full inventory levels on store shelves and organize them as per tag allocations.
• Aid in constructing shop exhibitions, final exhibits, perpendicular exhibits, and bargain wall exhibits.
• Rotate perishable goods consistently and discard items that have exceeded their expiration date.
• Maintain control over the amount of damaged goods by handling merchandise correctly.
• Before you finish your scheduled work shift, make sure to properly hand over your assigned section and notify the manager on duty.
• Adhere to the rules and regulations set out for each department.
• Extend greetings to individuals entering the store and maintain awareness while attending to sales responsibilities.
• Follow the guidelines outlined in the company's dress code policy to present a polished appearance.
• Follow all company guidelines detailed in the Employee Handbook.
• Implementing a price maintenance and safeguard system helps in controlling and securing price levels effectively.
• Cleaning and organizing the sales floors and backroom spaces.
• Provide assistance with front-facing services as necessary.
• Collect trolleys and ensure they are securely positioned at the front of the store, as necessary.

Qualifications of Grocery Shelf Stocker:

• Ability to read and write to properly tag merchandise, maintain proper inventory level and ensure rotation of product.
• Ability to unload, transport, and place merchandise in specific areas.
• Ability to lift up to seventy (70) pounds at least forty percent (40%) of the time.
• Must have the ability to retrieve and place merchandise on the top racks in the grocery aisles for proper storage. The top racking process may be 20% of the time working in the aisles during the shift.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to stand upright for most of your scheduled work shift.
