Job Summary of Grocery Stockroom Associate:

The Grocery Stockroom Associate helps the Grocery/Bulk and Dairy/Frozen Managers oversee the efficient and profitable functioning of their departments. Responsibilities include organizing, maintaining, and replenishing the bulk foods section to provide a clean, appealing, and well-stocked shopping environment.

Responsibilities of Grocery Stockroom Associate:

• Supporting departmental managers in ordering for the grocery, bulk, dairy, and frozen departments and verifying inventory levels for accuracy.
• Assisting department managers in the management of margin, COGs, and overall department profitability, focusing on shrink reduction and maximizing the impact of purchasing processes.
• Cross-referencing to ensure that the quality of all available products/conditions meets company guidelines.
• Providing and staying updated on individualized orders.
• Retail displays that include shelves, endcaps, and interactive setups.
• Assisting with the management and involvement in tagging, displaying, rotating products, keeping tidy, marking down prices, replenishing, and managing backstock.
• Collaborating in the training and supervision of department staff by assigning tasks and following through.
• Conducting participatory and observational demos.
• Working alongside department managers to tackle performance disparities within the department.
• Aiding in the facilitation of store opening and closing processes, which include handling the Daily Sales Report (DSR) and conducting cash transactions, as well as overseeing duties related to cashier end-of-day procedures.
• Undertaking register functions including backup cashier responsibilities, processing customer returns, addressing customer issues, and covering register shifts, including those designated for scheduled breaks.
• Promoting a secure environment for both customers and employees.
• Guiding customers with responses that align with company standards and policies, including language that supports health or nutrition in a manner compliant with regulations.
• Perpetually escalating familiarity with product details.
• Leveraging SAP for inventory management, along with utilizing email and other IS applications when needed.
• Working a schedule based on store needs which includes evenings, weekends, holidays. Position requires working five days, 40 hours per week and attending mandatory store meetings.
• The manager on duty responsibilities for this position are limited and do not encompass the overall manager on duty duties for the store.

Qualifications of Grocery Stockroom Associate:

• A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification is preferred for this role.
• One year of experience in a grocery or retail setting is preferred, particularly with a background in natural foods.
• Candidates who have one year of experience leading teams are preferred.
• Meeting the requirements for food safety training certifications as stipulated by law and guaranteeing compliance by regularly updating and registering certifications where necessary.
• Skill in managing dynamic priorities and staying concentrated on the current task.
• Adopt a sense of urgency as a driving force in accomplishing assignments.
• Demonstrate mastery in satisfying customer needs.
• Precisely arranged with a marked attention to detail.
• Ability to adhere to direction and finish tasks.
• The cashier position necessitates expertise in handling cash and accurately counting money.
