Produce Specialist

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Produce Specialist, you will support daily operations in the produce department and provide friendly, knowledgeable service. Your responsibilities include:

• Help the department head meet the set targets for sales and profitability.
• Oversee and preserve quality assurance benchmarks for all harvested goods.
• Develop a departmental environment that prioritizes safety, cleanliness, and orderliness to elevate the quality of customer interactions.
• Organize and swap out fresh produce items to uphold their freshness and enhance their visual attractiveness.
• Interact with customers by showcasing expertise on products, responding to queries, and proposing ideas.
• Adhere to the guidelines for food safety, cleanliness, and company policies to maintain standards.
• Endorse the emphasis on the Customer 1st strategy and empower staff to offer outstanding service.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Capability to offer top-notch customer support in a high-speed retail environment.
• Giving careful consideration to details while prioritizing the quality, newness, and tidiness of the product.
• Proficiency in interpersonal communication and group collaboration capabilities.
• Capability to hoist, transfer, and organize products; sustain a safe workspace.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of high school education or its comparable certification.
• Past exposure to the grocery, produce, or food service sector.
• Having a grasp of the proper procedures for managing fruits and vegetables, adhering to the FIFO principle, and presenting items attractively is fundamental in the world of grocery and retail.
• Communication abilities in more than one language.
