Role and Responsibilities:

As a Cook, you will prepare high-quality food items for cold cases, fresh packs, salad bars, and hot bars while maintaining presentation and sanitation standards. You will ensure consistency, freshness, and excellent customer service in alignment with Whole Foods Market's values and food safety standards.

• Arrange food products for refrigeration, fresh packaging, salad bars, and hot buffet counters following production sheets and recipes.
• Implement proper procedures for labeling, dating, covering, monitoring, and rotating prepared items to maintain quality and freshness.
• Monitor food supplies and replenish items promptly when needed.
• Be punctual, well-groomed, and prepared for scheduled shifts; attend all required training sessions and meetings.
• Deliver exceptional customer care, promptly address customer needs, and demonstrate effective upselling techniques.
• Enhance sales by ensuring products are prepped, stored, rotated, restocked, and merchandised properly.
• Follow official guidelines for Weights and Measures, health and hygiene practices, and safe work protocols.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and retail space; ensure tools, storage areas, and refrigeration units meet cleanliness standards.
• Carry out opening, mid-shift, and closing tasks, verifying signage and pricing accuracy.
• Report safety risks and violations immediately.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management at the local, regional, or national levels.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Thorough understanding of products and ability to follow recipe specifications accurately.
• Knowledge of food production principles and basic cooking methods.
• Basic math skills for food preparation and accurate measurement.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Ability to interact clearly and respectfully with team members, customers, and vendors.
• Focus on delivering high-quality customer service and meeting expectations effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 to 12 months of retail experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly pay ranges from $16.50 to $30.20, based on experience and assuming a 40-hour workweek.
