Job Summary of Warehouse Receiving Associate:
In collaboration with the Receiving Manager, the Warehouse Receiving Associate supports the efficient operation of the receiving department. The duties of this role encompass tasks such as handling, checking, and arranging incoming deliveries. It is the responsibility of the Warehouse Receiving Associate to verify the precise enumeration, proper labeling, and methodical storage of items following the organization's guidelines.
Responsibilities of Warehouse Receiving Associate:
- Placing a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Manifesting integrity, responsibility, and high standards and adhering to all rules.
- Collaborating with the receiving department manager to accurately receive all incoming merchandise, which involves tasks such as verifying dates, checking for precision, and inspecting for damage.
- Verifying all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Readyin items for easy transportation and immediate availability on the sales floor.
- Ensuring the accurate and prompt processing of purchase orders, return purchase orders, picking discrepancies, invoices, and paperwork.
- Scrutinizing and handling all discrepancies that arise.
- Talking to department supervisors about delivery concerns and vendor inventory shortages.
- Ensuring that special requests are being processed accordingly.
- Performing tasks involving the operation of a forklift and pallet jack.

- Assisting in the guidance and supervision of department personnel, including task allocation and monitoring progress.
- Initiating additional support and assistance in the store, and backing up on the sales floor after finishing receiving tasks.
- Answering customer queries following the company's standards and policies, which may entail the inclusion of statements that describe the product's structure/function or nutritional properties.

- Making use of SAP and inventory management software for streamlined inventory management, complemented by email communication and other relevant IS tools as required.
- The position entails following a schedule tailored to the store's demands, which could involve working evenings, weekends, and holidays. Employees are expected to work 40 hours each week over five days and to attend mandatory store meetings.
- While this role involves some managerial tasks, it is not intended to be the primary manager on duty for the store.
Qualifications of Warehouse Receiving Associate:
- A High School diploma, GED, or similar certification is desired for this position.
- Having worked in a grocery or retail environment, particularly in receiving, for a minimum of one year is preferred, and candidates with a background in natural foods are preferred.
- Preferably, candidates should have supervised others for a year.
- Attaining forklift certification involves meeting the requirements to operate a forklift legally and safely.
- Being able to successfully complete food safety training programs and certifications as mandated by regulations and ensuring that certifications are current and valid as needed.
- The capacity to adapt to changing priorities while remaining attentive to the task is a valuable skill.
- Execute tasks in a timely manner to convey a sense of urgency.
- Exhibit strong skills in delivering outstanding customer support.
