Job Summary

Position: Seafood Clerk

Do you love providing exceptional customer service, engaging with your community, and working with fresh food? Fiesta Mart is looking for a Seafood Clerk to join our team at Store #006 in Rosenberg. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining an attractive and sanitary seafood department, delivering excellent service, and handling high-quality seafood products with care.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and knowledgeable assistance to customers selecting seafood products
• Prepare, package, and display fresh seafood in compliance with food safety standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of seafood displays and prep areas
• Clean, sanitize, and rotate displays and work areas regularly
• Monitor product freshness and quality; remove and report spoiled items
• Weigh, wrap, and label seafood for sale
• Follow all store and department safety procedures, including proper handling of knives and equipment
• Assist with inventory management and restocking of supplies
• Perform additional duties as assigned by department management

Qualifications and Experience

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Required: Valid Food Handler Card or equivalent certification
• Basic communication skills in English and/or Spanish
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Friendly, approachable demeanor with a focus on customer satisfaction
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs., and stand, bend, stoop, and walk for prolonged periods

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in food handling, seafood, or grocery environments
• Basic PC or Outlook email skills
• Retail Management Certificate a plus

Salary

Hourly Rate: $13.00
Rate may increase based on experience, performance, and internal promotion opportunities.
