Role and Responsibilities:
As a Cook, your role will involve the preparation of top-notch food items for various sections like cold cases, fresh packs, salad bars, and hot bars, all while upholding standards of cleanliness and presentation. Maintaining consistency, ensuring freshness, and delivering exceptional customer service are key components of your responsibilities in line with Whole Foods Market's values and food safety protocols.
- Follow production sheets and recipes to assemble food items for refrigerated displays, freshly made packs, salad counters, and heated buffet stations.
- Label, date, cover, monitor for freshness, and rotate all prepared items to maintain quality.
- Monitor food inventory and restock items promptly.
- Arrive punctually, maintain proper grooming, and attend mandatory training sessions and meetings.
- Deliver excellent customer service, attend to customer needs in a timely manner, and demonstrate effective sales strategies.
- Enhance sales opportunities by preparing, storing, rotating, restocking, and presenting merchandise effectively.
- Adhere to approved Weight and Measures protocols, sanitation guidelines, and implement safe operational methods.
- Maintain a hygienic and organized workspace; ensure machinery, storage areas, and cold storage units meet sanitation standards.
- Complete initial, middle, and final tasks to ensure accuracy in displays and cost details.
- Report safety hazards and infractions promptly.
- Perform additional responsibilities as directed by management at all levels.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proficient understanding of products and the ability to follow recipe instructions.
- Knowledge of food preparation and essential culinary skills.
- Basic math skills for cooking and measuring ingredients.
