Role and Responsibilities of Grocery Associate:

In the position of a Grocery Associate, you are expected to offer rapid, adaptable, and hospitable service to customers, alongside supporting department heads in maintaining operational and display standards. Your job is crucial in fostering a favorable shopping atmosphere and ensuring the observance of food safety protocols.

• Ensure top-notch customer assistance at the front end, encompassing tasks like scanning, bagging, and maintaining the checkout areas' cleanliness.
• Support patrons of Food Lion To Go by delivering quick and precise service.
• Maintain the required product quantities, sanitation protocols, and correct food handling techniques in the Produce, Deli/Bakery/HMS, Perishable, and Grocery segments.
• Carry out equipment operations with safety in mind, such as pallet jacks, slicers, and cash registers.
• Stock shelves according to company standards, lifting up to 70 lbs and pushing/pulling pallets weighing up to 2,000 lbs.
• Move any empty bottles and containers from the front end to the back storage area if required.
• Follow all safety protocols, regulations for food safety, and procedures within the store.
• Help with fulfilling other responsibilities as required by leadership to promote seamless operations.

Required Skills and Experience of Grocery Associate:

• Mastering the skill of communication and customer service excellence.
• Capability and enthusiasm to understand diverse tasks and technical abilities.
• Meet the specified age restrictions for certain job responsibilities.
• Competence in fulfilling physical prerequisites, which encompass lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs, maintaining standing posture for entire shifts, and working with cleaning and packaging supplies.
• The job necessitates the skill to utilize computers and other communication systems proficiently.
• Ensure careful attention to detail during the performance of recurring hand and arm gestures.
