Role and Responsibilities of Deli Clerk:

As a Deli Clerk, your main responsibility involves delivering quick, adaptable, and courteous assistance to customers, while also aiding department managers in upholding operational and display criteria. Your position plays a vital role in guaranteeing a pleasant shopping experience for customers and compliance with food safety protocols.

• Provide exceptional customer support at the front, which involves scanning items, packing bags, and maintaining cleanliness in the checkout zones.
• Facilitate Food Lion To Go clients with prompt and precise assistance.
• Ensure that there are adequate product quantities, cleanliness standards, and correct food management procedures in the Produce, Deli/Bakery/HMS, Perishable, and Grocery sections.
• Safely handle machinery operations, such as pallet jacks, slicers, and cash registers.
• Shelve products in compliance with company guidelines, handling loads of up to 70 lbs and moving pallets weighing up to 2,000 lbs by pushing or pulling them.
• Transfer any vacant bottles and containers from the front area to the backroom as necessary.
• Adhere to all safety measures, food safety protocols, and store policies.
• Aid in completing additional duties as directed by supervisors in order to facilitate efficient functioning.
