Job Summary of Bakery Clerk:

The Bakery Clerk plays a vital role in creating a positive and memorable guest experience within the bakery department. This position involves assisting guests with product selection, handling special orders, packaging bakery items with care, maintaining inventory, and ensuring cleanliness and food safety standards. Ideal candidates are customer-focused, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities of Bakery Clerk:

• Provide exceptional guest service, greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing concerns with professionalism and care.
• Assist guests in locating specific bakery items and handle special orders accurately and efficiently.
• Take accurate orders for cakes and other custom bakery products.
• Package and price bakery items, maintaining quality, presentation, and minimizing waste.
• Replenish bakery products to ensure availability and attractive displays.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by rotating stock, removing outdated items, and keeping work areas clean and organized.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the bakery team and department operations.
• Maintain regular and timely attendance, providing adequate notice for absences.

Qualifications and Experience of Bakery Clerk:

• Ability to interact tactfully and effectively with guests and team members.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies.
• Previous experience in bakery, food service, or retail is preferred.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and work near moving machinery.

Salary:

Compensation is competitive and based on experience and hours worked. Both part-time and full-time options are available.
