Role and Responsibilities:

As a Meat Cutter Apprentice at Whole Foods Market, you will perform duties related to the cutting, preparation, display, and selling of meat products while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to food safety standards. You will also support the team by mentoring others and promoting store initiatives.

• Handle, plate, and showcase a range of meat options such as beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry.
• Create specialized meat delicacies such as sausages, pre-cooked selections, and cured meats.
• Validate that items meet the quality specifications set by Whole Foods Market.
• Facilitate sampling initiatives to protect against product degradation.
• Assist and guide assigned individuals as they navigate the training process to become Meat Cutters.
• Furnish top-tier customer assistance, respond promptly to customer needs, and exemplify successful upselling tactics.
• Increase sales effectiveness by diligently adhering to prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising guidelines.
• Observe the protocols regarding health, sanitation, Weights and Measures, and safety mandates.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation in both work and shopping environments, and properly upkeep equipment.
• Assume responsibility for opening, mid-shift, and closing duties, with a focus on the accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Timely reporting of safety hazards and violations is crucial.
• Adhere to additional duties as assigned by store, regional, or national supervisors.

Fundamental Proficiencies and Qualifications:

• Over 14 months of hands-on retail experience.
• Satisfying the criteria of the Whole Foods Market Butcher Apprentice Program, or a comparable instructional course, is critical for acceptance (rules may vary in the UK).
• Awareness of the protocols and practices within the meat team's operations.
• Showing great skill in cutting techniques, particularly in the area of breaking down products into sub-primal and retail cuts.
• Familiarity with the attributes of various fruits and vegetables and proficiency in their correct handling, preparation, and cooking.
• Skill in visually appraising products for freshness and quality.
• Capable of communication and teamwork integration.
• Expertise in time management, exceptional organizational skills, and proficiency in executing directions and procedures.

Compensation and Benefits:
