Role and Responsibilities of Retail Store Associate:

As a Retail Store Associate, you will provide fast, flexible, and friendly service to customers while supporting department managers in maintaining operational and merchandising standards. Your role ensures a positive shopping experience and adherence to food safety guidelines.

• Deliver exceptional customer service at the front by handling tasks such as scanning products, packing bags, and ensuring the checkout areas are clean.
• Provide swift and precise service to customers utilizing Food Lion To Go.
• Ensure that there are sufficient products available, hygienic conditions are met, and proper food management is practiced in the Produce, Deli/Bakery/HMS, Perishable, and Grocery divisions.
• Properly use various equipment, including pallet jacks, slicers, and cash registers, in a safe manner.
• Stock shelves according to company standards, lifting up to 70 lbs and pushing/pulling pallets weighing up to 2,000 lbs.
• Relocate unused bottles and containers from the front section to the backroom where needed.
• Adhere to all safety measures, food safety protocols, and store policies.
• Support in carrying out various tasks allocated by management to maintain operational effectiveness.

Required Skills and Experience of Retail Store Associate:

• Enhancing communication effectiveness and customer service capabilities.
• Ability and motivation to pick up multiple tasks and technical competencies.
• Fulfill the age prerequisites for certain job duties.
• Capacity to satisfy physical prerequisites, encompassing carrying loads of up to 50 pounds, staying upright for prolonged periods, and handling tasks involving cleaning and packaging materials.
• Operating computers and other communication systems proficiently is vital for effective job performance.
• Sustain a high level of attentiveness to detail during repetitive hand and arm movements.
