Floor Care Associate

Role and Responsibilities:

The Floor Care Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment within the store. This includes ensuring that all floor surfaces, restrooms, and common areas are kept in optimal condition to provide a pleasant and safe shopping experience for customers. Key responsibilities include:

• Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the sales floor, liquor store, offices, breakrooms, backrooms, training rooms, and restrooms free from hazards. Report faulty equipment or unsafe conditions promptly.
• Customer Interaction: Greet, assist, and thank customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Floor Care: Operate floor care equipment using appropriate tools and chemicals. Sweep, vacuum, and return mats and rugs. Remove carpet stains and perform general cleaning.
• Restroom Maintenance: Perform deep cleaning to maintain high sanitation standards.
• Waste Disposal: Dispose of trash and maintain waste areas properly.
• Safety and Security: Notify management of theft, shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, or illegal activity against company policy.
• Other Duties: Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Experience:

• No formal educational requirements.
• 0–3 years of experience in a similar role (no supervisory experience required).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently, and follow English instructions.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
• Basic computer skills to complete online training.
• High standard of integrity, reliability, and compliance with company policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and customer service focus.
• Ability to work effectively with cleaning tools, equipment, and chemicals.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Frequent standing and walking on tile or concrete surfaces.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs and pull up to 250 lbs.
• Reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing up to 10 feet as needed.
• Exposure to cold, heat, wet, and humid conditions, as well as loud noise, dust, fumes, and cleaning chemicals.
• Risk of slips, trips, and falls when working with wet or cluttered surfaces.

Schedules:

Varied shifts, including potential overnight shifts depending on store location.
