Job Summary of Deli Team Member:

In the deli setting, the primary responsibility of a Deli Team Member is to provide polite and efficient service to customers while meeting their order requirements. Their duties include the preparation, cutting, weighing, packaging, and presentation of deli goods such as meats, cheeses, and salads. It is essential for them to maintain a clean and sanitized work environment, follow food safety guidelines, and ensure that all items are fresh, correctly labeled, and attractively showcased.

Responsibilities of Deli Team Member:

• Prepare, divide, assess, and value items in a friendly way.
• Process orders in a manner that meets customers expectations.
• Offload items from the deli section and move inventory to appropriate storage zones.
• Be diligent in restocking shelves and replenishing cases to maintain inventory levels.
• Regulate the quality of products by utilizing coding techniques and implementing a rotation schedule to eliminate expired goods each day.
• Price every product neatly and in accordance with the established price list.
• Update and showcase new products as well as special promotions each week.
• Showcase the latest arrivals and ongoing promotions.
• Inform the appropriate supervisor about temperature malfunctions occurring in the storage units.
• Follow the established guidelines and protocols within the department.
• Give a warm reception to all visitors and stay attentive.
• Adhere to the company policies as detailed in the Employee Handbook.
• Follow a routine cleaning regimen that aligns with the health regulations mandated by the store, city, and state authorities.
• Support in the making of heated meals and any other culinary offerings.

Qualifications of Deli Team Member:

• Must have strong communication skills for dealing with customers.
• Must have basic math skills for weighing and pricing products.
• Must have dexterity in hands to enable slicing and preparing of all deli products.
• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds up to twenty percent (20%) of the time.
