Job Summary of Grocery Inventory Associate:

The Grocery Inventory Associate works with the Grocery/Bulk and Dairy/Frozen Managers to support the successful performance and profitability of these departments. Duties include maintaining and organizing the bulk foods section, ensuring it is clean, orderly, and consistently stocked for customer convenience

Responsibilities of Grocery Inventory Associate:

• Focusing on delivering top-tier customer service as the foremost goal.

• Structuring interactive and extensively merchandised store zones with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
• Assisting department managers with placing orders for grocery, bulk, dairy, and frozen items, and overseeing accurate inventory levels.
• Aiding department managers in overseeing margin, COGs, and department profitability, with an emphasis on reducing shrinkage and enhancing the efficiency of purchasing procedures.
• Assuring that the condition of all in-stock items meets the company's established criteria.
• Providing and following up on tailored requests.
• Setting up product displays with shelves, endcaps, and creative showcases.
• Supporting in supervising and taking part in tagging, displaying, reorganizing, sanitizing, marking down, replenishing, and managing surplus stock.
• Contributing to the training and supervision of department employees by assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
• Carrying out demonstrations with interactive and non-interactive approaches.
• Collaborating with department leaders to improve performance outcomes within the department.
• Assisting with store starting and ending routines, which entail tasks such as compiling the Daily Sales Report (DSR) and handling cash transactions, as well as completing cashier closeout responsibilities.
• Managing register functions by providing backup cashiering support, facilitating customer returns, addressing complaints from customers, and ensuring smooth transitions for register shift changes, including breaks as scheduled.
• Upholding the protection and safety of clients and staff members.
• Addressing customer inquiries in accordance with company policies, integrating health-affirming language and nutritional support statements where relevant.
• Endlessly increasing awareness of different product specifications.
• Using SAP in coordination with inventory management software, and utilizing email and other IS programs as required.
• Working a schedule based on store needs which includes evenings, weekends, holidays. Position requires working five days, 40 hours per week and attending mandatory store meetings.
• Despite having some manager on duty tasks, this position is not designated as the primary manager on duty for the store.

Qualifications of Grocery Inventory Associate:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of experience in grocery or retail environment preferred; natural foods background is a plus.
• 1 year of experience supervising others preferred.
• Ability to pass food safety training courses and/or certifications as required by law and maintain compliance by keeping certifications up to date and registered if applicable.
• Ability to manage changing priorities and to stay focused with the task at hand.
• Possess a sense of urgency in the completion of tasks.
• Possess excellent customer service skills.
• Highly organized with great attention to detail.
• Ability to take direction and follow through.
• Must be cashier trained and able to count currency.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
