In the position of The Money Handling Clerk, the central duty is to provide a friendly, quick, and accurate checkout experience for our patrons. This includes processing purchases, managing payments, and advertising BJ's membership opportunities, all while keeping the front end area clean and organized.

• Delivers outstanding customer support through warm greetings, efficient transaction handling, and polite responses to inquiries.
• Operates the Point of Sale system to scan merchandise, ensuring correctness in pricing and tracking inventory.
• Processes a range of payment types, including cash, check, credit, and mobile transactions.
• Details the advantages of membership, renewals, and upgrades, like the BJ’s Loyalty and EASY Renewal programs, are discussed and illustrated.
• Provides customers with receipts and correct change to guarantee the accuracy of all transactions.
• Supports customers using self-pay kiosks and self-checkout stations, addressing basic technical concerns.
• Handles the upkeep of cleanliness in the front-end section, registers, and cashier lanes.
• Remains current on promotions and advertisements to ensure members are aware of savings and special offers.
• Adhering to all club policies and procedures in order to maintain high operational standards and meet member expectations.
• Undertakes supplementary duties as allocated, which can include providing assistance in alternative areas when necessary.
• It is crucial for this position that employees maintain a regular and predictable attendance record.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• Frequent time spent standing and walking on unyielding surfaces.
• Sporadic bending, reaching, and hoisting loads of up to 30 lbs (heavier objects with help).
