Role and Responsibilities:
As an Inventory Specialist, you will support the store management team by ensuring product availability, reducing shrink, and upholding merchandising and operational standards. You will play a vital role in enhancing customer satisfaction, supporting compliance, and contributing to the store’s success.
- Inventory & Merchandising (40%): Conduct store walks and audits, ensure shelves are stocked and organized, manage backroom inventory, monitor discrepancies, and support replenishment processes.
- Shrink Control & Compliance (25%): Manage reclaim items, transfers, and discards; monitor expiration dates; execute recalls; and reduce shrink through root cause analysis.
- Customer Experience & Service (15%): Ensure product availability, respond to customer inquiries, support service levels, and promote loyalty initiatives.
- Operational Support & Communication (10%): Complete reports and trainings, collaborate with leadership, and use inventory management tools effectively.
- Safety & Regulatory Compliance (10%): Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and OSHA standards; report hazards; use PPE; and foster a safety culture.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3–6 years of experience in a retail, inventory, or merchandising environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and computer literacy (inventory tools, reporting software).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and push/pull up to 250 lbs using equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb (up to 30 ft), and perform repetitive motions.
- Comfort working in cold, wet, or humid environments and with material handling equipment and PPE.
- Flexible schedule including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience working cross-functionally with teams.
