Role and Responsibilities:

The role of a Meat Processor at Whole Foods Market entails fulfilling duties pertaining to the butchering, readying, exhibiting, and merchandising of meat products, with an emphasis on delivering top-tier customer service and upholding food safety standards. Furthermore, part of your job will involve supporting your colleagues through mentorship, demonstrating best practices, and championing store initiatives.

• Carve, present, and market meat selections comprising beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry.
• Craft distinctive meat merchandise like sausages, oven-ready selections, and preserved meats.
• Validate that products comply with the quality requirements of Whole Foods Market.
• Coordinate sampling efforts to mitigate the risk of spoilage.
• Facilitate the development of Trainee(s) learning the responsibilities of a Meat Cutter.
• Provide exceptional customer assistance, address customer needs without delay, and exemplify successful upselling techniques.
• Boost sales possibilities by adhering to precise prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising practices.
• Abide by the health, sanitation, Weights and Measures, and safety standards in place.
• Preserve a sanitized and orderly environment for both work and shopping activities, and follow equipment maintenance protocols.
• Fulfill opening, mid-shift, and closing obligations, including the verification of signs and pricing accuracy.
• Make immediate reports of safety hazards and violations.
• Complete any other assignments as required by store, regional, or national authorities.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Equipped with 14 months of retail background.
• Satisfactory completion of the Whole Foods Market Butcher Apprentice Program, or an analogous training scheme.
• Understanding the operations and practices involved in meat team functions.
• Proficient at cutting tasks, demonstrating skill in breaking down items into sub-primal and retail cuts efficiently.
• Thorough knowledge of different types of meat and seafood cuts and cooking methodologies.
• Competency in visually examining goods to verify their freshness and quality.
• Competent in communication and adept at working collaboratively within a team setting.
• Skilled in time management, adept at organization, and proficient in adhering to directions and procedures effectively.

• Competence in managing responsibilities swiftly in a rapidly changing work environment.

Compensation and Benefits:
