Role and Responsibilities:

The Food Service Worker is responsible for creating top-tier food items for distribution across cold cases, fresh packs, salad bars, and hot bars, while upholding sanitation and presentation standards. Emphasizing consistency, freshness, and stellar customer service is key in meeting the values and food safety guidelines set by Whole Foods Market.

• Fabricate dishes for refrigerated displays, newly packed items, salad buffets, and warming stations according to the provided production sheets and kitchen formulas.
• Follow protocols to label, date, cover, monitor, and rotate prepared items to uphold their quality and freshness.
• Monitor the status of food supplies and replenish items promptly when needed.
• Be punctual, properly groomed, and prepared for scheduled shifts; attend all required trainings and meetings.
• Provide outstanding customer assistance, promptly attend to customer inquiries, and demonstrate successful sales tactics.
• Enhance sales opportunities by maintaining proper practices in prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products.
• Follow recognized protocols concerning Weights and Measures, health and sanitation regulations, and safe work practices.
• Ensure a clean and hygienic work and shopping setting; verify that equipment, storage areas, and freezers meet cleanliness standards.
• Perform necessary duties at the beginning, middle, and end of shifts to maintain accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Report safety hazards and violations promptly.
• Carry out supplementary duties as assigned by leadership across various organizational levels.

Required Skills and Experience:

• In-depth knowledge of products and aptitude to follow recipe guidelines with precision.
• Understanding of food preparation and primary cooking methodologies.
• Basic math capabilities for food prep and accurate measurement of ingredients.
• Advanced communication proficiency and willingness to collaborate with team members.
• Ability to engage in clear and respectful communication with team members, customers, and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 to 12 months of retail experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly pay ranges from $16.50 to $30.20, based on experience, structured around a standard 40-hour workweek.
