Food Service Worker

Responsibilities:

• Customer Experience
  Provide outstanding customer service with a friendly attitude and helpful approach.
• Answer questions and assist customers in selecting products that best suit their needs.
• Take customer orders in person or by phone and ensure accuracy and timely preparation.
• Food Preparation & Service
  Prepare, package, and display fresh food items according to department standards.
• Handle slicing, cooking, frying, baking, or other culinary tasks depending on the department.
• Maintain proper rotation of products and ensure consistent quality.
• Sales & Merchandising
  Execute suggestive selling techniques to increase department sales.
• Set up and maintain appealing displays that promote product freshness and variety.
• Stay informed about product ingredients, preparation methods, and uses.
• Safety & Sanitation
  Follow all food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures.
• Clean and sanitize workstations, tools, and display areas regularly.
• Properly operate equipment and report any malfunctions or hazards.
• Department-Specific Tasks
  Bakery:
• Assist in decorating, frying, or baking as needed.
• Track inventory and record shrink for planning.
• Deli:Operate slicers and maintain deli counters.
• Manage catering orders and ensure timely customer pickups.
• Prepared Foods:
• Portion, package, and label hot and cold meal options.
• Assist chefs in prepping ingredients.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in food service, retail, or grocery (preferred but not required)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
• Completion of company-provided food safety and sanitation training (upon hire)

Salary:

Starting at $15.50 $19.00/hour
Depending on department, experience, and shift differential.
