Job Summary of Yard Driver:

This role is responsible for operating trucks and tractor trailers to efficiently move equipment within the warehouse docks for loading and unloading. The position involves regular inspections, documentation, and coordination with the fleet maintenance team to ensure safety and compliance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Yard Driver:

• Operate yard trucks and tractor trailers within the yard and position trailers at loading docks.
• Conduct regular yard checks and monitor refrigeration unit temperatures.
• Check and refuel refrigeration units as needed to maintain proper function.
• Maintain accurate time and production records through both manual and computer systems.
• Perform frequent visual inspections of equipment and report findings to the fleet maintenance team.
• Read and verify labels, manifests, invoices, and other shipping and receiving paperwork with precision.

Qualifications and Experience of Yard Driver:

• Valid CDL or yard driver certification preferred.
• Experience operating yard trucks and tractor trailers in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Familiarity with transportation documentation such as manifests and invoices.
• Strong attention to detail and safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with warehouse and fleet personnel.
