Role and Responsibilities of Retail Associate:

Your role as a Retail Associate necessitates providing prompt, adaptable, and welcoming service to customers, while also assisting department managers in upholding operational and merchandising guidelines. Ensuring a positive shopping experience and compliance with food safety regulations are central aspects of your responsibilities.

• Provide excellent customer service at the front end of operations, involving responsibilities like scanning, bagging, and keeping the checkout areas neat.
• Offer prompt and accurate aid to Food Lion To Go patrons.
• Ensure that there are sufficient products available, hygienic conditions are met, and proper food management is practiced in the Produce, Deli/Bakery/HMS, Perishable, and Grocery divisions.
• Safely operate a range of equipment, from pallet jacks to slicers and cash registers.
• Stock shelves according to company standards, lifting up to 70 lbs and pushing/pulling pallets weighing up to 2,000 lbs.
• Shift any unused bottles and containers from the front to the back area as appropriate.
• Comply with safety protocols, food safety standards, and store procedures consistently.
• Aid in executing supplementary duties as assigned by supervisors to contribute to operational efficiency.

Required Skills and Experience of Retail Associate:

• Developing strong communication aptitude and excellent customer service proficiency.
• Competence and keenness to acquire various tasks and technical proficiencies.
• Comply with the age specifications for particular job tasks.
• Capability to meet physical demands that involve lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for the entirety of shifts, and utilizing cleaning and packaging materials.
• The ability to use computers and other communication systems is a fundamental requirement for the job role.
• Maintain a high level of detail orientation when executing repetitive hand and arm motions.
