Role and Responsibilities of Fresh Market Associate:

As a Fresh Market Associate, you will ensure quality standards are met, provide outstanding customer service, and support sales growth while reducing shrink. Your responsibilities include creating a positive shopping environment, following company practices, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

• Foster an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer attentiveness, emphasizing prompt, kind, and accurate service.
• Provide helpful and polite support to team members.
• Leverage company tools such as the Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS) and ordering technology like Computer-Assisted Ordering (CAO).
• Manage the reception of goods, apply coding when relevant, rotate merchandise, and store them correctly.
• Ensure that the guidelines established by the company are followed for the ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and showcasing of merchandise.
• Regulate stock levels for meat, sliced meats, frozen goods, dairy items, and ice cream to meet customer needs.
• Carry out the process of beef grinding in accordance with the instructions provided by the production tool.
• Encase, identify, measure, and stock meat when needed.
• Follow the necessary steps to assemble, disassemble, and wash grinders appropriately.
• Ensure the department is clean and sanitized correctly, while also meeting the required layout and variety criteria.
• Guarantee that advertising and promotional materials align with legal mandates.
• Comply with all the guidelines, policies, and standard practices dictated by Food Lion.
• Abide by the necessary precautions to maintain safety in both food-related activities and workplace conditions.
• Locate, fix, and disclose any unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty.
• Stay in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations to prevent violations.
• Ensure a neat and professional presentation by wearing the designated Food Lion uniform, an apron, and a name badge as part of your outfit.
• Adhere to the training directives, particularly regarding Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Packets.
• Undertake any other responsibilities as required.

Required Skills and Experience of Fresh Market Associate:

• Individuals who have completed high school or hold an equivalent qualification are preferred for this role.
• Possesses excellent skills in interpersonal relationships, organization, communication, and client service.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical job requirements.
• Applying technical knowledge to find solutions to problems.
• Meeting the age criteria set for the job functions is a necessary condition for employment eligibility.
• Having the capability to satisfy the physical requirements of the job, with or without appropriate accommodations.

Physical Requirements of Fresh Market Associate:

• Utilize computers and additional communication systems as required.
• Engage in reiterated hand and arm gestures.
• Regularly engage in bending and lifting tasks with items weighing up to 15 lbs., frequently lift loads of 25 lbs., and occasionally handle items weighing 50 lbs.
• Push or pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Be in a standing position constantly and include frequent walking episodes.
• Handle the utilization of substances for cleaning and packaging items.
• It is usual to have to reach and hold objects at waist level regularly, with the option to extend the reach above or below occasionally.
• Comply with the expected levels of task completion.
• Sustain work performance in significantly hot or cold settings for durations restricted to 20 minutes.
