Target Guest Advocate (Cashier)

Job Summary:

Join Target as a Guest Advocate (Cashier & Front-End Support) and play a key role in creating an exceptional shopping experience. As the first point of contact for guests, you will ensure every interaction is warm, efficient, and memorable. You’ll handle transactions, resolve inquiries, promote loyalty programs, and help maintain an organized and welcoming store environment. This position is perfect for individuals who enjoy engaging with people and thrive in a fast-paced retail setting.

Roles and Duties:

• Guest Service: Greet guests warmly and assist them with finding products, answering questions, and providing excellent service throughout their visit.
• Cashier Operations: Accurately process payments, returns, and exchanges while maintaining efficiency and accuracy at the register.
• Guest Engagement: Educate guests about Target Circle, RedCard benefits, current promotions, and special events to enhance their experience.
• Problem Solving: Address guest concerns promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction and build long-term loyalty.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow team members and leaders to ensure smooth store operations and consistent guest service.
• Store Upkeep: Maintain a clean and organized checkout area; restock supplies and assist in other areas of the store as needed.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow company policies and safety procedures to create a secure shopping and working environment.
• Technology Proficiency: Use handheld devices, scanners, and digital tools to assist guests and streamline operations.
• Additional Role – Front-End Experience Coordinator: Support store leadership in coordinating guest flow during busy periods, ensuring adequate coverage at checkouts, and mentoring new team members on guest service best practices.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
• Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs.).
• Comfortable using cash registers, handheld devices, and scanners.
• Ability to multitask in a high-energy retail environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, enthusiastic, and service-oriented demeanor.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Previous retail or cashier experience preferred, but not required.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
