Job Summary of Retail Pharmacy Intern:

This position provides third-year pharmacy students with a chance to acquire practical skills by aiding pharmacists and pharmacy persoel in providing patient care and pharmacy functions. The intern will assist in prescription handling, stock control, and client assistance while following state and national guidelines with pharmacist oversight.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Retail Pharmacy Intern:

• Support the pharmacist and pharmacy staff in delivering top-notch patient care and pharmaceutical services while adhering to state, federal, and organizational regulations.
• Assist with managing prescription orders through pharmacy dispensing software, which involves tasks like inputting, verifying, and dispensing medications as per doctor's orders.
• Offer guidance and assistance to patients regarding vaccinations and the management of medication therapy as allowed by the duties of a pharmacy intern.
• Manage incoming calls from individuals who are not pharmacists, which involves interacting with healthcare professionals.
• Help with managing pharmacy inventory tasks like placing orders, receiving deliveries, conducting regular counts, and organizing medication supplies.
• Keep the pharmacy area tidy, structured, and adequately supplied.
• Record transactions, handle payments, and aid clients in finding over-the-counter items.
• Provide outstanding customer support by interacting with clients and handling concerns in a courteous maer.
• Adhere to all organizational guidelines and cultivate positive interactions with colleagues.
• Fulfill specific tasks and projects as instructed by the pharmacist.

Qualifications and Experience of Retail Pharmacy Intern:

• Presently registered as a student in a recognized pharmacy school program.
• Having an active Pharmacy Intern license that is in compliance with the regulations set by the state's pharmacy board.
• Competence in delivering vaccinations.
• Opeess to working non-traditional hours, such as evenings and weekends.
• Possessing excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities to cultivate coections and provide outstanding customer satisfaction.
