Role and Responsibilities of Stock Associate / Merchandiser:

Being a Stock Associate / Merchandiser Associate involves offering excellent customer service and maintaining high levels of merchandising standards within the Center Store (Grocery) Department. Your tasks will involve optimizing sales performance and reducing shrink by accurately managing inventory and following company standards.

• Foster enthusiastic customer engagement through the provision of timely, welcoming, and precise support.
• Show consideration and helpfulness to your coworkers.
• Maintain proper levels of Specialty Stock Associate / Merchandiser products following standard procedures, overseeing both backroom inventory and shelf presentation.
• Abide by the specified shelf allotments as outlined in the plan-o-grams.
• Ensure that new products and tags are promptly restocked within a week of receipt, adhering to plan-o-grams for correct placement.
• Comply with company standards in organizing the ordering, receiving, preparing, conditioning, and showcasing of merchandise.
• Leverage company resources like the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and procurement tool (CAO) for effective operations.
• Observe the standards for food safety and workplace safety; correct any hazardous situations.
• Report all accidents involving associates and customers following the established procedures at Food Lion.
• Meet the expectations for clothing attire by wearing the approved Food Lion uniform in adherence to the dress code.
• Comply with the obligation to participate in computer-based and other specified training sessions.
• Engage in extra duties as necessary.

Required Skills and Experience of Stock Associate / Merchandiser:

• Candidates with a high school diploma or similar certification are preferred.
• Proficient in interpersonal relations, organizational tasks, communication strategies, and satisfying customer needs.
• Skillfulness and interest in mastering multiple tasks and technical job qualifications.
• Improving problem-solving outcomes with the integration of technical information.
• The role necessitates candidates to meet the specified age prerequisites.
• Competent in satisfying physical criteria with or without suitable assistance.
• Skilled in the operation of computers and communication technology needed for job functions.

Preferred Qualifications of Stock Associate / Merchandiser:

• Knowledge of inventory management systems and their role in enhancing efficiency within grocery retail operations.
