Food Market Associate

Position Summary

Do you have a passion for fresh food and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service? As a Food Market Associate at Sam’s Club, you’ll help ensure our members have access to fresh, high-quality products every day. You’ll maintain the presentation and safety of food items across the grocery, produce, dairy, and frozen departments while providing friendly and efficient assistance to members.

You’ll be part of a team that helps families stock up and save — all while keeping our commitment to freshness, quality, and value.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, well-organized, and member-ready Food Market area.

• Stock and rotate merchandise according to company standards and food safety regulations.

• Check expiration dates, temperature logs, and quality of perishable goods.

• Follow all food handling, storage, and safety procedures.

• Assist members with locating products, answering questions, and providing recommendations.

• Monitor inventory levels and report low or damaged stock.

• Ensure compliance with all company policies, health codes, and operational procedures.

• Operate equipment safely and follow sanitation standards.

• Support other departments as needed to meet business demands.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.

• Must complete required food safety and compliance training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in grocery, food service, or retail environments.

• Food Handler Certification (as required by state or local regulations).
