Responsibilities of Customer Service Checker:

• Delivers timely, effective, and warm customer care through displaying empathy, attentiveness, and understanding in all customer engagements, valuing customers as the key focus in the retail setting.
• Engages in friendly interactions and exchanges pleasantries with patrons, regardless of whether the interaction occurs within the staff member's specific area of responsibility or elsewhere within the retail location.
• Is dedicated to getting to know the names of customers and using them in interactions.
• Responds promptly to incoming calls and delivers courteous and supportive assistance to phone customers.
• Partners with team members to guarantee client happiness and a harmonious work setting.
• Handles transactions at the cash register with accuracy and scans merchandise when necessary.
• It involves redeeming promotional vouchers, food assistance coupons, WIC checks, issuing rain checks as needed, accepting various forms of payment including cash, checks, and credit cards, processing in-store charges, calculating discounts, returning accurate change, and issuing receipts to customers.
• Greets customers, helps them find products, and processes transactions accurately. Offers guidance on merchandise selection and provides recommendations based on customer preferences. Ensures customer satisfaction by addressing any issues promptly and professionally.
• Is knowledgeable about and abides by the rules concerning the retail of tobacco, liquor, and lottery tickets as set forth by the community, state, and employer.
• Maintains compliance with WIC and food stamp regulations established by local, state, and federal authorities.
• Having an understanding of the pricing, identification codes, unit departments, and characteristics of received goods is necessary.
• Manages inventory by organizing stocks, rotating goods, maintaining shelf cleanliness, interpreting shelf indicators, being well-versed in the positioning of products within the store and warehouse, and assisting customers in locating desired items.
• Monitors the surrounding environment to identify customer needs and any safety concerns within the store premises.
• Clearly communicates important messages over the intercom or telephone.
• Analyzes the store flyer each week to highlight any adjustments in pricing and featured discounts.
• Helps in keeping the register space tidy, makes sure there are ample resources on hand, reports any discrepancies in the cash balance, and aids in preserving the store's visual appeal.
• Checks the cash register amounts against the currency in the register to confirm that balances match at the start and end of the shift, if required.
• Has the ability to offer customers cash back or credit notes for returned products or assist with directing them to the right location.
• Adheres to sanitation protocols and consistently keeps the workspace tidy and organized.
• Upholds a high level of conformity with department and corporate rules regarding personal grooming and attire standards. Abides by company policies and store-specific guidelines.
• Consistently shows up for work as per the assigned schedule.
• One of the secondary roles and obligations is to help store management when necessary, recognize expiry dates on perishable goods, swap out register tape and ribbons, lend a hand in different sections of the store, and carry out other work-related tasks and specific projects as needed.

Qualifications of Customer Service Checker:
