Job Summary of Stockroom Assistant:

As a Stockroom Assistant at Hy-Vee, your tasks involve inspecting merchandise freshness and quality, ensuring an appropriate stock level is available, following a production list, and forecasting the department's daily product requirements. Additionally, you will receive deliveries, arrange products, and review invoice details for accuracy

Responsibilities of Stockroom Assistant:

• Provides customers with attentive and friendly service, displaying empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in meeting their needs while recognizing their significance to the store.
• Greets customers with a smile and friendly demeanor, showing a commitment to learning and using their names whenever feasible during interactions.
• Guiding customers includes accompanying them to the desired products, acquiring products that are beyond their reach, and assisting with the movement of heavy items. Noting down and relaying any suggestions or requests from customers is an integral aspect of the role. Fulfilling a range of tasks to enhance the shopping experience is also a significant part of customer assistance
• Swiftly responds to telephone inquiries and delivers supportive and amiable assistance to customers in need. Works collaboratively with team members to ensure customer contentment and a positive work environment.
• Duties involve unloading trucks, opening containers, storing products on shelves, organizing excess stock on elevated platforms, and rotating merchandise.
• Monitors for miss-picked items, reviews product outs, wrong deliveries, etc. Organizes stock for greatest efficiency, cleans and restocks damaged items. Tags the shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers. Reports all new or different items for the scanning coordinator for input into the system.
• Consistently observes department and company guidelines regarding personal hygiene and clothing choices. Abides by company protocols and individual store regulations with unwavering commitment.
• Is punctual in reporting for duty, adheres to the established work hours, and completes tasks within the allotted time frame.

Qualification of Stockroom Assistant:

• Should be skilled in addressing real-world problems, handling a spectrum of variables with limited standardization, and interpreting provided instructions.
• Aptitude for resolving arithmetic equations with fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• It is crucial to have the capacity to understand and comply with verbal or demonstrated instructions, transcribe identification details, and request materials verbally or in written form.
• High school or equivalent experience. Six months or less of similar or related work experience.

Physical Requirements of Stockroom Assistant:

• Physical strength is needed to perform very intense labor, involving exerting over 100 pounds of force on occasion, over 50 pounds of force frequently, and over 20 pounds of force constantly for the movement of objects.
• Visual prerequisites incorporate the ability to see within the range from below 20 inches to beyond 20 feet, regardless of the use of correction, along with depth perception, color vision acuity, and the breadth of the visual field.
• Candidates should possess the ability to complete various physical activities like climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, gripping, sensing touch, speaking, listening, and performing repetitive motions.

Working Conditions of Stockroom Assistant:

• The nature of this job involves daily exposure to dirt, noise, hazards from equipment movement, and handling chemicals and solvents regularly.
