Job Summary of Bakery Store Manager:

It is critical to oversee and manage the Bakery Department and its workforce to achieve the established goals in sales, profitability, customer experience, and employee engagement under the leadership of the General Store Manager, adhering to the company's purpose and service priorities.

Qualifications of Bakery Store Manager:

• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift. Ability to perform basic computer functions.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 60 lbs.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences. Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties.
• Ability to climb a ladder to retrieve items from overhead racking and storage areas.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way. Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies. Ability to engage and lead Associates to achieve department goals.

Responsibilities of Bakery Store Manager:

• Strict adherence to company policies, as well as local, state, and federal laws, is imperative. This includes compliance with all regulations governing food safety and operational standards, in accordance with the environmental, health, safety, and security policies mandated by the organization and relevant authorities.
• Follow HAACP and Food Handling procedures meticulously while performing assigned tasks.
• Carry out all tasks according to the procedures outlined in the Company's HAZCOM program and observe the guidelines provided by manufacturers concerning the safe and proper handling of chemical products.
• Ensure adherence to departmental quality assurance standards by maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe workspace. Communicate clearly and enforce safety policies consistently to promote a secure working environment in line with company standards.
• Supervise the appropriate usage of all tools by team members, which encompasses Personal Protective Gear.
• Understand and comply with emergency guidelines, regularly inspect equipment for proper functioning, and promptly inform Store Management of any maintenance or equipment concerns.
• The operation of power equipment such as balers and slicing machines is limited to those who have reached the age of 18.
• Engage regularly in activities such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and rotating items that can weigh between 25 and 60 lbs.
• Carry merchandise from delivery trucks to the Bakery Department, with a requirement to lift items weighing 25 lbs and occasionally items weighing 60 lbs. Monitor and update temperature logs and production sheets as needed.
• Organize and manage a thorough cleaning maintenance schedule for the whole department. Acquire and adhere to a Company-approved Food Safety Certification following successful training completion.
• Provide timely and courteous assistance to customers as well as promoting any ongoing charity promotions effectively.
• Help oversee the onboarding process of fresh department personnel by conducting interviews, selecting candidates, and ensuring adherence to all labor regulations and Company protocols.
• Uphold clear lines of communication and foster a collaborative approach with all partners.
• Guide associates to work together harmoniously while fostering passion, loyalty, and innovation. Sample new products and seasonal favorites to excite Customer interest and stimulate demand. Encourage and acknowledge employees to create a positive Customer Experience.
• Maintain a professional image and inspire a positive example for fellow employees in the department as per the Company Dress Code Policy. Monitor the upkeep and accuracy of Unit Price Labels for all items. Supervise the cleanliness and organization of the Bakery storage area to ensure readiness for subsequent shifts, including tasks such as creating bales, dealing with reclamation, plastic, and pallets.
• Regularly restock and rotate all merchandise in display cases, shelves, and other applicable showcases according to department standards and tag allocations.
• Verify that merchandise is arranged and displayed in line with Company guidelines or any provided instructions. Ensure that highlighted sale goods are properly signed as per Company and regulatory guidelines. Possess knowledge and utilize all mandatory applications and modern technology related to Bakery Operations. Authenticate the correctness of invoices in relation to the actual products received.
• Ensure that all records and reports are precise, comprehensive, and stored in accordance with Company policy.
• Ensure that all received products meet quality standards and are stored securely in the relevant storage facilities.
• Validate the accuracy of item costs, the effectiveness of item location practices, and the allocation of items to specific shelf locations. Also, ensure that procedures for reclaiming or reinstating products to inventory are in line with Company guidelines.
• Confirm that the in-store pricing procedures and internal transfers adhere to the Company's prescribed policies.
• Adhere to the rules and regulations established by Local, State, and Federal entities concerning Bakery Operations.
• Understand how departmental financials can affect operations and make adjustments accordingly to achieve desired outcomes. Follow the Company's guidance on minimizing losses in Bakery Operations.
• Maintain a commitment to transparently communicate and steadfastly apply department and Company policies and protocols.
• Ensure the right number of staff members are scheduled to match the predicted sales volume and customer service expectations.
• Complete all mandatory department training courses. Uphold consistent attendance and timeliness, and be available for overtime work as mandated. Carry out tasks while abiding by the standards laid out by the Local, State, and Federal Department of Labor for young employees.
• Support in the preparation of food products, catering tasks, and specific orders as requested. Perform any other delegated responsibilities.
