Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting customers with their pharmacy needs and inquiries.
• Manage prescription processing through RxEVO, including data entry, third-party adjudication, and resolving insurance exceptions.
• Coordinate pharmacy events such as Rx screenings and immunization scheduling.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory by ordering, receiving, and reconciling stock and ensuring proper storage.
• Operate and maintain automated prescription processing equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting.
• Assemble prescriptions accurately, perform the 7-point verification check, and handle controlled substances securely.
• Uphold confidentiality and privacy standards in compliance with HIPAA.
• Support pharmacy compliance initiatives, including 5-S standards, ORT, and Pharmacy Standards Reviews.
• Assist with pharmacy facility maintenance and communicate operational issues.
• Participate in continuous learning and certification programs to maintain pharmacy technician credentials.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum age of 18 years with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Active certification as a retail Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in Texas.
• At least 1 year of retail pharmacy technician experience; 3+ years pharmacy experience preferred.
• Proficiency with H-E-B RxEVO system and pharmacy management software.
• Strong communication skills with advanced telephone etiquette.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and remain composed under pressure.
• Commitment to ongoing certification and training requirements.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs regularly.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.

Salary:

The salary range typically falls between $38,000 and $50,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
