Major functions, primary obligations, and essential responsibilities:

• Delight members with exceptional service by responding to their questions, providing recommendations, and fulfilling special requests.
• Slice, quantify, and wrap deli goods including meats, cheeses, and prepped dishes for retail sale.
• Assist members in choosing the right products by providing a selection of samples for their consideration.
• Verify the quality and freshness of deli products upon arrival.
• Administer the positioning, turnover, and showcasing of deli merchandise by upholding guidelines that safeguard food safety and product quality.
• Routinely review items for expiration and carry out the suitable disposal or salvage procedures.
• Regularly disinfect and cleanse deli equipment and work surfaces to uphold sanitation standards.
• Operate slicers, scales, and rotisserie ovens securely and according to safety guidelines.
• To avoid discrepancies, it is imperative to have precise scale systems for pricing and labeling purposes.
• Consistently uphold BJ's policies and procedures, ensuring compliance is maintained.
• Fulfill any other duties as designated, which may involve assisting in other departments as directed.
• This position necessitates reliable and consistent attendance.

Qualifications:

• Experience in a deli or food service environment is highly valued.
• Having previous experience with slicers, scales, and other deli equipment will be beneficial.
• Proficiency in deli merchandise and protocols for ensuring food security.
• To be considered, one must have reached the age of 18 or above.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• Consistent standing and movement on solid floors.
• Infrequent need for bending, reaching, and lifting items up to 30 pounds (heavier loads should be lifted with assistance).
• Handle temperature variations from working near coolers, ovens, and freezers.
• Sporadic engagement with cleaning products.
