Job Summary of Pharmacy Trainee:

This position allows third-year pharmacy students to gain practical experience by assisting pharmacists and pharmacy staff in providing patient care and pharmacy services. The intern will help with prescription processing, inventory management, and customer service while following state and federal regulations with supervision from a pharmacist.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Pharmacy Trainee:

• Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy staff in upholding excellent patient care and pharmacy services within the parameters set by state, federal, and organizational rules.
• Help facilitate prescription fulfillment utilizing pharmacy dispensing software, involving duties like inputting prescriptions, processing through third-party systems, and preparing medications for pickup.
• Assist patients with counseling and support for immunizations and medication therapy management as outlined in the pharmacy intern practice guidelines.
• Handle phone conversations with parties other than pharmacists, including interactions with healthcare professionals.
• Provide assistance with pharmacy inventory operations such as ordering medicines, receiving packages, conducting inventory audits, and maintaining stock levels.
• Keep the pharmacy environment clean, structured, and well-prepared with inventory.
• Document sales, conduct transactions, and help consumers locate over-the-counter merchandise.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences by interacting effectively with clients and resolving their issues with professionalism.
• Respect and adhere to all company policies while nurturing professional relationships with coworkers.
• Execute distinct assignments and projects as directed by the pharmacist.

Qualifications and Experience of Pharmacy Trainee:

• Engaged as a student in a pharmacy school program that meets accreditation standards.
• Maintaining a Pharmacy Intern license that is considered valid and in good standing with the state pharmacy board.
• Capability to distribute vaccinations.
• Willingness to work outside regular office hours, such as evenings and weekends.
• Proficient in building strong coections and offering exceptional customer service to enhance the overall customer experience.
