Role and Responsibilities of Freight Driver:

• Ensure the safe and efficient transfer of commodities from the distribution center to specified locations.
• Perform inspections on the vehicle before setting out and after coming back to maintain roadworthiness.
• Organize and enact routes to align with predetermined delivery timelines.
• Review documentation for accuracy and verify that orders are complete with the accurate number of cases.
• Utilize various tools such as ramps, pallet jacks, load bars, and related gear to assist in the loading and unloading process.
• Uphold DOT standards when handling tractor-trailer equipment.
• Engage in professional communication with customers, vendors, and dispatch teams.
• Promptly inform appropriate personnel of any safety issues, vehicle malfunctions, or potential problems that may affect operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized truck to facilitate timely and precise deliveries.

Required Skills and Experience of Freight Driver:

• The job mandates a Class A CDL with a clean driving history and clear MVR.
• Two years of prior experience handling a 53-foot tractor-trailer is a prerequisite for this position.
• Those under 21 years old are not permitted.
• Proficient in carrying loads of up to 50 lbs. and completing physical delivery tasks.
• Comprehension of DOT regulations and the application of defensive driving skills are vital components of responsible driving.
• Readiness to work weekends, nights, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications of Freight Driver:

• Skill in executing seamless palletized freight deliveries from one dock to another.
• Expertise in efficiently managing time and planning travel routes.
• Unwavering dedication to both workplace safety and meeting customer needs effectively.
