Responsibilities of Retail Seafood Clerk:

• Being a Retail Seafood Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market entails contributing to the success of a department that is consistently popular with our shoppers
• A Retail Seafood Clerk is tasked with delivering excellent customer service, practicing safe food handling procedures, and possessing extensive product knowledge and preparation skills.
• A hands on position, the Retail Seafood Clerk receives, stores, and grinds meats; unloads and transports fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery truck; counts and weighs incoming articles and compares results against an invoice; and examines meats in storage and rotates meats to avoid aging.
• A Retail Seafood Clerk provides a high level of prompt and friendly customer service; assists customers with questions, and special orders and needs, while maintaining a positive, customer focused work environment.
• The Retail Seafood Clerk is familiar with the weekly ad specials, directs customers to product locations around the store, and complies with the Clean as You Go and Fresh at 4 schemes.
• This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department. If youre someone who thrives in a fast pace environment then we want to hear from you!

Qualifications of Retail Seafood Clerk:

• Applicants are required to be 18 years of age or older, hold a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification, and exhibit a basic comprehension of mathematics, weights, and measurements.
• Maintain a dependable and reliable approach to fulfilling designated duties, and be open to performing other related tasks as assigned.
• Exude warmth and approachability; maintain a positive perspective and interact skillfully with our customers.
• Demonstrate the proficiency to manage a flexible work schedule that adjusts as per the business dynamics, encompassing evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in communication along with the ability to follow instructions and contribute to a team atmosphere is necessary
• Carry out standard housekeeping procedures in the department; clean and sanitize the workspace (such as tables, flooring, walls, cabinets, coolers, freezers, etc.).
• Strictly follow safety guidelines, health protocols, precise measurement standards, and company recipes as instructed
• Applicants should have the capability to stand for up to 4 hours continuously and for a total of 8 hours during a shift, as well as walking a distance of up to 2 miles within an 8-hour timeframe.
• Responsible for working within a controlled temperature setting and completing routine cleaning tasks in the assigned area; sanitize and tidy the workspace, encompassing tables, floors, walls, refrigeration units, and freezers.
• It is important to have good vision when using sharp knives, band saws, grinders, sausage makers, box cutters, wrapping machines, and meat tenderizers.
• Demonstrate capability in moving items weighing 25 to 90 lbs horizontally or vertically, across distances of 4 to 60 feet, for 20 consecutive hours.
• Transport pallets horizontally with a pallet jack, managing loads of up to 500 lbs. with a force requirement of no more than 85 lbs., traveling up to 100 feet in a duration of 5 hours.
• Rearrange shelves of items laterally, managing weights of up to 70 lbs., with a force exertion of up to 25 lbs., across distances of up to 50 feet during a 10-hour work period.
• Ability to transport tables up to 70 lbs in weight by applying a force exceeding 35 lbs to move them a maximum distance of 2 feet within a one-hour time frame.
