Role and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of a Baking Technician involve overseeing the daily bread and bakery production processes to secure consistency, quality, and efficiency. Cooperating with fellow team members is critical for sustaining operational smoothness and meeting safety and hygiene requirements.
- Use weighing scales to measure ingredients precisely and maintain the correct blending sequence.
- Fulfill the requirements of portioning, shaping, proofing, and baking bread and bakery products based on specified recipes and schedules.
- Understand and adhere to all cooking formulas, instructions, and operating timelines accurately.
- Manage the cleanliness of workspaces, mixers, utensils, and machinery.
- Incorporate PLUs, UPC codes, and Globalbake software to improve the efficiency of recipe printing.
- Follow proper procedures to operate and clean bakery equipment like mixers, chillers, and dispensers to ensure safety and sanitation.
- Stay up-to-date with FSMA, HACCP, health and sanitation regulations, as well as organic standards, to remain compliant in the food industry.
- Meet training requirements, attend meetings, and comply with PPE and scheduling guidelines as stipulated.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Smoking is connected to detrimental health effects like cancer, heart disease, and respiratory illnesses.
- Competence in hand production techniques and the processes associated with making bread.
- Proficient understanding of baking components, utensils, and gauges.
- Proficient in math and equipped to make rapid mental calculations effortlessly.
- Primary skills in computer usage and software applications, with potential proficiency in Globalbake.
- Demonstrates outstanding communication and organizational proficiency.
- Proficiency in discerning and appraising the excellence of goods through the sense of taste.
- Possessing the capability to work independently or as a team member with minimal guidance.
- Fit to lift weights of up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for 8 hours, and executing actions including bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Versatile in maintaining productivity in temperatures varying between -10°F and 100°F.
- Eagerness to participate in rotating schedules that incorporate nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active learning with Hobart mixers, compactors, knives, and bakery production gear.
- Displaying a proactive stance in approaching problem-solving tasks, supported by strong self-motivation and initiative.
Compensation and Benefits:
