Job Summary of Front-End Associate:

As a Front-End Associate, your duties consist of providing prompt and friendly checkout assistance, processing customer transactions with precision, and preserving a neat and structured work setting. Additionally, you will contribute to fostering a positive shopping experience by offering support to customers and championing exceptional service delivery.

Responsibilities of Front-End Associate:

• Observe and adhere to all company guidelines and established protocols.
• Maintain a tidy and groomed look consistently and adhere to the company's guidelines on personal appearance.
• Aid in specialized projects and execute supplementary responsibilities as instructed by supervisors.
• Abide by the management planning guidelines set by the company to sustain work output.
• - Ensure compliance with all safety standards established by the company.
• Inform about equipment maintenance or repairs that are needed. Keep the workspace clean and safe by removing any hazards.
• Show fairness, dignity, and respect towards all employees within the organization.
• Carry out exact cost assessment duties.
• Limit the abundance of utilization of store provisions including ribbons, receipt paper, bags, and cleaning supplies.
• Keep a record of any discrepancies in pricing or items not present in the system by filling out the appropriate forms and promptly seeking price verifications following company procedures.
• Ensure the legitimacy of customer IDs and comply with store policies on accepting checks and selling tobacco and alcohol.
• Comply with the company's protocols regarding an overflow of cash in the registers and coordinate a cash pick-up in adherence to company policy.
• Follow safety guidelines by staying alert and observant of the actions and demeanor of clients.
• Report any irregular behavior to a supervisor or security.
• Ensure the proper handling of various transaction types accepted by the store, which may include cash, checks, authorized Accounts Receivable sales, Electronic Payments, WIC, coupons, gift cards, bottle credits, refunds, lottery, Western Union, while strictly adhering to company policies and legal standards.
• Maintain the security of the register when not in use and safeguard the company's assets without fail.
• Utilize equipment correctly and uphold its maintenance to prevent issues, reporting any problems promptly.
• Continuously follow and implement the required housekeeping and hygiene standards in line with store protocols and state and local health rules.
• Be well-versed in the diverse selection of produce offered in the store and be able to distinguish between the various types, like recognizing the differences between different varieties of apples and lettuces.
• Frequently undertake cashier and client service duties.
• Execute tasks as delegated by superiors

• Record (scan) the purchases of a customer into the cash register efficiently and accurately.
• Collect money in the forms of cash, checks or electronic funds from customers and tender accurate change in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Provide customers and associates with refunds in accordance with standard practice.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Follow Anti-Money Laundering guidelines while processing Western Union, Money Orders, Prepaid Cards and Check Cashing.
• Prerequisite Training:
• Completed Cashier/Service Associate training packet

Physical Requirements of Front-End Associate:

• Frequently use hands to deal with cash, both in paper and coin denominations, while also operating multiple tools like a cash register, lottery machine, scanner, computer, and calculator.
• Bend and hoist objects that weigh up to 15 pounds without interruption, deal with 25-pound loads frequently, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Occasionally handle or transport items up to 75 pounds by pushing or pulling.
• Consistent action of extending and seizing objects at a medium height level, occasionally reaching beyond the shoulders or beneath the waist.
• Attain the designated volume targets set for the position.
• Demonstrate the ability to clearly see and review ID cards, checks, invoices, and other written documents.
• Stay on your feet constantly, taking occasional short walks as needed.
